About Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a treatment that removes old and damaged skin leaving your skin feeling youthful and smooth.
Microdermabrasion benefits
Microdermabrasion corrects rough skin textures, some types of scarring, uneven pigmentation, and age spots. In some cases, it can also remove or improve whiteheads and blackheads, some stretch marks, and fine wrinkles. By removing superficial layers of the skin, microdermabrasion allows new skin to appear. In fact, this procedure even stimulates the growth of new skin cells.
How are the treatments performed?
The procedure takes between 15 minutes and a half an hour. This procedure uses a device that sprays small aluminum oxide crystals across the skin while simultaneously vacuuming the crystals and the removed skin off of the face. Multiple sessions are recommended.
Does it hurt?
In some cases, people report some mild irritation. The majority of people though, report no pain at all. Anesthesia is not necessary.
After effects?
Some people refer to this procedure as the "lunchtime peel" because it can easily be fit into an hour-long lunch break. The skin will probably turn pink immediately afterwards, but this color fades within a few hours.
